Sustainable labels thanks to Natureline by Töpfer
Consumers want sustainable products: this was the starting point for Natureline by Töpfer Kulmbach, a new solution for biodegradable labels and packaging. These products:

The compostable labels are the first premium solution available on the market that make no compromise in terms of quality, shine, advertising impact or processing options. What’s more, we are the only provider of labels and packaging to be a member of the „Healthy Printing“ network.
A strong partner for a strong result
The paper used in Natureline labels comes from 100% recycled fibres, i.e. it is made wholly from post-consumer fibres. But NATURELINE by Töpfer is more than just label paper made from recycled fibres – special treatment within the machine and a very precise printing operation produce a label that is truly the equal of any label printed on virgin-fibre paper in terms of workability, resistance to alkalis and shine.
Cradle to Cradle® is a basic idea that takes its lead from nature and has very exacting demands; at the outset, it is a concept that appears more innovative than those underlying other certificates. It is based on closed material cycles that generate zero waste and preserve valuable raw materials. For example, if the materials used in the printed product could be fed back into a biological cycle, then the de-inking sludge would no longer be waste, it would be a valuable nutrient. This system therefore completely prohibits the use of many substances, such as those named in the Banned Lists of Chemicals.

So, this eco-label is proof not only that a product has been made from environmentally sound and recyclable materials, using renewable forms of energy, but also that the company concerned uses water responsibly and takes its corporate social responsibilities seriously.

All the electricity used in manufacturing the sustainable labels is produced from renewable sources and is EMAS-certified. This is a European Community system for voluntary environmental management. Certified companies are authorised to display an environmental declaration of relevant information, such as data on their consumption of resources and energy, emissions and waste.
